Story 2: GE2015: Recount underway for Aljunied GRC, margin less than 2 per cent
Story 3: GE2O15: Workers' Party retains Aljunied GRC with 50.95 per cent of the vote
Analysis:
Part A) Did the initial story manage to fill in the 5Ws and How of the story? What do you think is missing? Or is there too much /too little information?
Who: Workers' Party (WP) chief Low Thia Khiang
What: Retaining the Aljunied GRC along with the Punggol East and Hougang single-seat wards
When: Around 9.15pm after voting for the Sept 11 polls
Where: Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) branch
Why: He thinks the people do trust WP
How: A win in Aljunied will show that voters trust the WP in spite of an ongoing dispute between the party and the government over financial lapses discovered at the town council
The initial story covered all the 5Ws and how and that the only information given are the thoughts of the interviewee and his claims. As of the moment that the story was written, the voting has closed and is in the middle of counting, therefore all information is based on the interviewee's point of view. As of that moment, there are no stats to support his claim aside from past results. In the second story and third stories, the results have been announced and has supported his claim of retaining the Aljunied GRC.

Part B) Was the lead clear or appropriate? Would you have proposed a different lead?
The lead was clear and concise. It made sure that the readers would be able to be able to know what to expect from reading the story. The first story however I would have used a more direct lead and tell the readers what the WP chief had to say straight away instead.

Part C) Were any quotes used?
There were quotes used in each story. In the initial story, only quotes by WP chief Low were used as it was an article about his interview. In the second story, the elections department was not directly quoted but had released a statement. This is probably due to the fact that a recount is in order and there was no one who was sent as a spokesperson. The last story used a quote by Mr Pillai. this was likely to emphasise on the difficult task PAP had to try and win votes back from WP.

Part D) Any other observations in terms of structure, style and content.
In the first story, there was a heavy emphasis on quotes. Due to the nature of it being an interview, much of the content would come from the interviewee and therefore there is a need for the heavy usage of quotes.
In the second story, there was some statistics shown of how many voters there are in the GRC. This is background information so the readers themselves can roughly gauge the current number of votes each party has. It also serves to highlight how close the results are, even from the previous elections.
The third story shows alot of reactions from the parties involved. As the follow up is after the results have been announced, that is why the story touches on what each representative of each party has to say to the residents.
